The breed standard describes a compact, well-knit, sturdy dog with a well-developed chest and a deep brisket that reaches the elbow1. The UK standard gives an adult weight of about 13–14.5 kg and a height of 38–41 cm2,3, but pet Cockers vary: many working-type Cockers are lighter and leaner, and some show-type dogs are heavier.
